GFL Mississauga is looking for a Processing Facilities Technician to support our processing line of business!
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample inbound/onsite material, conduct screening analysis, record results
- Ensure appropriate data entry is completed
- De-pack loose packs, categorize, strap and track outgoing material
- Interpret and compare results
- Operate a tank farm and associated pumps, valves, and couplings
- Blending and preparing product to prescribed recipe using pumps and mixers
- Maintain a high level of organization in a fluid environment
- Communicate and liaise with other departments
- Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
- Respond to emergencies and help with the spill clean-up
- Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable codes
- Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers
- Some overtime required
- Other duties as requested by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- Open availability Monday - Friday (Required to work morning and afternoon shifts)
- Chemistry, Chemical Lab, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environnmental Technician, or related field of study
- Must be comfortable working in a 100% outdoor environment (cold and heat)
- Must be clean shaven (to be able to wear full mask respirator)
- Must be comfortable working at heights (up to 10 feet)
- Robust organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Exemplary communication skills
