Employment Type: Full-Time at 1.0 FTE – 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary

The Tenant Support Worker (TSW) is a non-clinical housing stability position responsible for supporting residents and tenants inmaintainingsuccessful housing outcomes through connection, coordination, advocacy, navigation, and access toappropriate communityand financial resources.

Working within RVF’s housing and lodge environments, the TSWassistsresidents inidentifyingand addressing barriers that mayimpacttheir ability to remain safely and successfully housed. The position focuses on early intervention, service coordination, social connection, and access to community supports that contribute to successful aging in place.

The TSW works collaboratively with residents, families, housing staff, lodge staff, healthcare providers, community agencies, and government programs to promote resident well-being and housing stability.

This position does not provide healthcare services, housing administration, tenancy enforcement, financial decision-making, or clinical interventions.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Engagement and Support

- Build positive and supportive relationships with residents and tenants.
- Conduct routine resident check-ins and follow-up meetings.
- Identifyemerging concerns that may affect housing stability, health, safety, or quality of lifeandidentifybarriers that may affect a resident’s ability tomaintainhousing.
- Encourage resident participation in available programs, activities, and community resources.
- Assistresidents inidentifyingpersonal goals and support needs.

Housing Stability Support




- Assistresidents in developing plans to address housing-related concerns.
- Support residents during transitions into, within, or out of housing programs.
- Collaborate with housing and lodge staff to address concernsimpactingresident well-being whilemaintainingappropriate roleboundaries.
- Promote resident independence and self-advocacy whenever possible.
- Provide informationregardingavailable seniors’ benefits, subsidies, grants, andassistanceprograms.
- Assistresidents in understanding available housing-related financialassistanceprograms.
- Support residents in completing applications for government and communityassistanceprograms.
- Connect residents with agencies that provide financial counselling, income support services, tax clinics, or benefit navigation.
- Maintain awareness of available federal, provincial, and community-based financial supports for seniors.
- Document referrals and connections to financialassistanceprograms and services.

Community Partnerships and Resource Development
- Develop andmaintainrelationships with community organizations and service providers.
- Promote awareness of available supports and resources for residents.
- Coordinate services that address social, wellness, housing, and financial needs.
- Participate in community networks and team-oriented initiatives that support seniors and housing stability.
- Identifyservice gaps and opportunities to improve resident access to supports.

Documentation and Reporting
- Maintainaccurate,timely, and confidential case notes and records.
- Document resident interactions, referrals, follow-up activities, and outcomes.




- Track serviceutilizationand program outcomes.
- Support organizational reporting requirements and key performance indicators.
- Prepare reports and summaries asrequired.
- Ensure documentationcomplies withorganizational policies and privacy legislation.

Qualifications

Education

One of the following is preferred:
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, Community Support, Gerontology, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

- Experience working with seniors, vulnerable populations, or individualsrequiringsupport services.
- Experience in housing, community development, social services, case management, or service coordination is considered an asset.
- Experience navigating government programs, benefits, and community resources is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

- Knowledge of seniors’ services, housing supports, and community resources.
- Understanding of issues affecting housing stability and aging in place.
- Knowledge of available government benefits andassistanceprograms for seniors.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Proficiencywith documentation, reporting, and basic computer applications.

Licences and Requirements

- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between RVF housing and lodge locations.
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle for business-related travel.
- Ability to obtain andmaintainpersonal automobile insurance that includes business-use coverage acceptable to RVF.
- Must provide proof of driver’s licence, vehicle registration, and insurance coverage upon request.
