We are seeking an experienced Woodshop Foreman to lead our woodshop operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will oversee multiple woodshop teams, including Plywood, Show Wood, Custom, and Production, while ensuring daily work is completed accurately, safely, efficiently, and in alignment with internal production and custom schedules. The ideal candidate is highly organized, hands-on, and capable of managing people, workflow, materials, equipment, and timelines while working closely with Project Managers, Sales, Production, Design, and Programming teams to support successful project execution.

This position is on-site Monday-Friday. Hybrid or Remote work is not available.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee day-to-day woodshop operations across multiple teams, including Plywood, Show Wood, Custom, and Production.
- Ensure internal production and custom schedules are followed and that work is completed according to quality, timing, and safety expectations.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Sales teams, and the Production Manager to assess staffing, timing, and shop capacity before committing to current jobs.
- Maintain accurate tracking of materials, frames, parts, and production movement throughout the woodshop.
- Gather and verify accurate counts of items cut, items sent to machines, completed components, and work in progress for each job.
- Implement and maintain proper labeling, tracking, and reporting measures to ensure materials and frames are correctly identified, placed, and assigned to the appropriate jobs.
- Supervise, train, and mentor team leads to ensure they can provide accurate counts, status updates, and numerical reporting for their areas.
- Monitor workflow, labour allocation,



and production priorities to keep teams organized and aligned with daily and weekly targets.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance with woodworking processes, machinery, tools, and operational issues when required.
- Oversee maintenance schedules and safe operation of woodworking equipment, including bandsaws, table saws, tenon machines, domino machines, planers, jointers, belt sanders, and hand tools.
- Train new employees and refresh existing staff on health and safety requirements, operating procedures, lockout/tagout methods, and internal shop standards.
- Partner with Project Managers, the Production Manager, Design, and Programming teams to discuss lead times, job requirements, production challenges, and technical needs.
- Identify process gaps, recommend practical improvements, and support stronger communication, accountability, and consistency across woodshop teams.
- Build a positive, disciplined, and safety-focused shop environment while holding team leads and team members accountable to company standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing teams of 20 or more employees in a woodshop, manufacturing, or similar production environment.
- Strong hands-on woodworking and machinery experience, with the ability to step in and support production work when required.
- Experience operating and understanding woodworking machinery, tools, and equipment used in manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements, operational procedures, equipment safety, and lockout/tagout practices.
- Proven experience training, coaching, and developing supervisors, team leads, and production staff.
- Ability to lead with autonomy, build practical training paths, and strengthen team accountability without unnecessary disruption to existing processes.
- Ability to assess current shop workflows, learn internal processes, and make informed improvements before changing established systems.
- Computer savvy with experience using ERP systems,



entering and tracking data, and working with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Intermediate skills in Excel, SharePoint, email communication, typing, and report building.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Sales, Production, Design, Programming, team leads, and shop employees.
- Robust understanding of wood properties, materials, woodworking processes, and manufacturing flow.
- Knowledge of CNC machines and CNC-related production processes is considered an asset.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accurate counts, records, schedules, and production updates.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities, staff needs, deadlines, and quality expectations.
