Join Our Team We are seeking a Field Partsperson - Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) to support customers by managing inventory, coordinating parts requirements, and ensuring timely delivery of parts to support equipment maintenance and repair activities. This role combines customer service, inventory management, logistics coordination, and parts support in both shop and field environments.
What You'll Do
- Process and coordinate parts orders and deliveries
- Manage on-site inventory, including counting, ordering, stocking, and replenishment activities
- Coordinate parts requirements related to customer equipment maintenance and repair in the field
- Ensure accurate required-by dates are entered into company systems
- Communicate estimated delivery dates and order updates to customer contacts
- Complete daily EJHAs and monthly vehicle inspections
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and development activities as required
- Deliver parts to customer and company locations as directed by the Regional Parts Manager and VMI Team
- Participate in parts-related projects, initiatives, and assignments
- Support call quality and performance improvement initiatives
- Source non-Caterpillar parts as required
- Manage backordered parts
- Prepare weekly inventory usage reports for customers
- Provide shop and field parts support when working from the branch
What We're Looking For
- Journeyperson Parts Technician Certification (Red Seal preferred)
- Previous experience in parts sales, warehousing, front counter operations, inventory management, or customer support
- Caterpillar product knowledge is considered a strong asset
- Experience working directly with customers in field or industrial environments
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid computer skills and experience working with multiple software platforms
- Experience with SIS, AIMS, Antares, SIMSi, InfoCast, Lawson M3, Landmark Smart Office, M3 Sales Automation, and Microsoft Office is considered an asset
- Industry experience in mining, heavy construction, and technology products is considered an asset
- Previous field experience is an asset
Additional Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to operate an F550 Flat Deck truck on a daily basis
- Ability to meet customer site access requirements, including clean-shaven requirements where applicable
- Ability to obtain and maintain customer site access approval
- Forklift and Crane & Rigging experience are assets (training available)
- WHMIS, TDG, and First Aid certification will be required upon hire
- This is a safety-sensitive position and requires the successful completion of all customer site screening requirements, including full-panel testing

This position is governed by the terms and conditions of the Alberta Local 99 Collective Agreement. Please note: Any future shift changes will be administered in accordance with the current Collective Agreement.
