Learn more at avenge.CaRole DescriptionAvenge is seeking a dynamic, motivated Financial Controller to lead our accounting team. The Controller oversees the company's financial health and provides solid supervision and mentorship to the accounting department. This includes preparing, maintaining, and analyzing financial statements, payroll, budgets, and tax compliance, conducting internal audits, and managing the submission of financial reports to stakeholders.This position will be based out of Peace River, Grande Prairie or Calgary, Alberta.This is an in-office role, no remote or hybrid arrangements are available.Salary Range: CA$120,000.00-CA$140,000.00 per year based on experience and education.ResponsibilitiesOversee and provide backup support across all accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, cost, inventory, and payroll accountingManage cash flowRecommend and help develop accounting policies, planning, and procedures to ensure the most efficient use of resourcesDevelop internal controls, analyze variances, produce reports,



and reconcile general ledgersOversee and support month end and year end processesPartner with management on long term financial strategyPrepare financial statementsLead budgeting through forecasting and analysisFollow up with clients on outstanding payments and coordinate communication to resolve issuesCollaborate with department heads to ensure accuracy in departmental financials by generating monthly reports for review and confirmation, and oversee adjustments as neededDevelop monthly and quarterly financial review presentations for departmentsActioning federal tax payroll deductions, filing, and remittance.Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the businessSkill and AttributesStrong attention to detail, paired with the ability to explain the "why" behind the numbersFlexibility to quickly adapt communication style, format, and content when new information arisesMotivated self-starter with a can-do attitudeSolid knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresDemonstrated ability to manage and lead change, and to build process improvementsStrong collaborator who works well across teamsSkilled at managing and prioritizing multiple initiatives at onceAbility to organize thoughts logically and persuasively, and communicate them effectively in conversation, writing, and formal presentationsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPAMinimum of 3+ years progressive accounting and finance experience, including direct supervision of staffStrong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reportingProficiency in accounting software (e.G., Business Central D365 or similar) and advanced Excel skillsWe thank all applicants for their interest in Avenge Energy Services; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
