The Recovery Support Worker is responsible for the development and implementation of a case plan that assists the client in increasing their overall stability and resiliency, as well as supporting clients in meeting their short- or long-term recovery goals. Your responsibilities would include:Developing and delivering recovery-focused programming that promotes life skills and community engagementCompleting referrals to housing, treatment programs, and community-based resourcesProvide transportation and accompany clients to medical, legal, treatment, or housing-related appointments using an agency vehicleCreate and implement client-centered safety plans and respond to crises as they ariseMaintain accurate documentation, including client files, case notes, and daily statisticsProvide educational presentations on topics related to health, addiction, and homelessnessParticipate in regular team meetings and program evaluation activitiesRole model Alpha House’s values and act as a positive ambassador with the public, businesses, and partner organizationsSupport general program operations, including cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols (MSDS, WHMIS, OH&S)Demonstrate strong knowledge of Alpha House’s policies and procedures and uphold them in all aspects of the roleAbout YouThis is a weekday position with daytime hours, offering consistency and the opportunity to build meaningful client relationships. You would assist with completing daily admissions, including monitoring and responding to client needs. The ideal candidate would have the following:A minimum two-year diploma in a relevant social science field (e.G.,



Social Work, Addictions), or currently enrolledAt least two years of direct case work experience, preferably with individuals experiencing addiction or homelessnessPreference given to candidates with knowledge and experience in Indigenous culture, programs, and servicesUnderstanding of addiction, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented systems of care, and mental health impactsSkilled in de-escalation, crisis intervention, and safety planningHighly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independentlyStrong rapport-building skills with clients and professional partnersCulturally sensitive with an inclusive, non-judgmental approachProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointExcellent oral and written communication skillsFamiliar with the Protection of Persons in Care Act and FOIPComfortable facilitating client workshops and educational sessionsPosition RequirementsClass 5 (Non-GDL) driver’s licenseComfortable driving a large passenger vanBe able to physically assist clients from prone to sitting or standing, and vice versaAble to provide a Vulnerable Sector Search, valid within the last six months, that does not contain any results material to the positionAbout Alpha HouseAlpha House is dedicated to providing safe, caring, and respectful environments for individuals dealing with addiction and mental health challenges.
