Job Title Registered Nurse Program & Department Regular / Temporary Temporary Full / Part Time Full-Time Temporary End Date (Anticipated) 01 August 2027 Union ONA Requisition Close Date 12 August 2026 FTE 1.00 Salary Plan / Job Grade $41.15 - $58.98 ( ON_02 ) Job Posting Reason Temporary Backfill Job Summary & Requirements RVH's Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU) is a 16-bed, 14,300 square-foot space which includes two procedure rooms featuring first-in-Canada technology to perform cardiac angiograms, angioplasty and pacemaker implantation. Reporting to the Cardiac Intervention Unit & Cardiac Care Unit Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible for the provision of optimal care for Cardiology patients undergoing various procedures within a cardiac intervention unit & pre/post procedure area. This posting is to work within the Catheterization Lab until August 1, 2027 . Education: Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses Critical Care Certificate preferred or completion within two years of hire Coronary Care I & II required Must pass a screening arrhythmia quiz obtaining an 80% to move onto interview phase Experience: Must have a minimum of one (1) year of critical care experience or equivalent experience in ED/CCU or ICU is required Previous Cardiac Intervention Unit experience is required for vacancies in the Cath Lab Previous pre and post experience is required for vacancies in pre & post area Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump experience is preferred Strong background in cardiovascular physiology, electrocardiography and rhythm interpretation is required Experience with aortic hemodynamic monitoring is required Groin management experience is required Experience with pacemaker device analyzing/programming is required Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrates excellent critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills Demonstrates ability to function both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team Ability to adapt in a fast paced and stressful environment Commitment to patient and family-centered care Commitment to skilled practice, continuing education and lifelong learning Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required Demonstrates technical skills-computer software and audio-visual equipment Demonstrates ability to energize, coach, encourage and support other team members Demonstrates ability to manage change and to foster an environment which promotes professional development and best practice Responsibilities:

philosophy and objectives of the hospital Participates in department and hospital committees Participates in Nursing Professional Practice activities Supports a culture that encourages learning from students, staff, patients and families Creates and/or provides input into Nursing policies and procedures Ensures supplies, equipment, space and human resources are effectively utilized Unit responsibilities: Prepares and administers medication and provides treatments as prescribed or as required according to professional standards and medication policies, then evaluates and documents outcomes Provision of direct patient care Transcription of orders Checks and verifies physician orders Receives physician telephone orders Intravenous initiation and maintenance Accepts in-charge responsibilities as required Provides and receives report to oncoming staff Documents the care and assessments of patients in the clinical record as per RVH policies and procedures and College of Nurses standards Completes workload measurement Patient Flow Management: Ensures timely acceptance of patients (PULL methodology) to Unit/department and other referring centres Works with service departments to reduce barriers to patient flow Participates with interprofessional team Rounds/Communication Boards/ Daily Communication occurs as per department/unit requirements Identifies situation in department/unit which present barriers to daily patient flow Participates as a member of the inter-professional team to implement plans for patients to meet the Expected Date of Discharge (EDD) Equity & Inclusion RVH is committed to recruitment and selection practices anchored in principles of equity and inclusion that contribute to an anti-oppressive, respectful, and culturally safe workplace.
