People Force is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for a 6 months contract role with one of our client. This position is a hybrid position with onsite presence at our client’s Montreal office , 1 day per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with robust expertise in Typescript development and experience building scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate has a solid software engineering background, is comfortable working across the full application stack, and has experience with modern infrastructure and automation practices.

Experience with Java development is considered an asset, while Python experience will be highly valuable as upcoming initiatives will involve web development capabilities.

Experience building test automation frameworks and working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is also highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services using Javascript/Typescript.
- Contribute to the development of web applications and APIs using modern technologies and frameworks.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and deliver business value.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support cloud infrastructure initiatives.
- Contribute to automation efforts, including testing and infrastructure provisioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across applications and environments.
- Promote software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and observability.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and building microservices.




- Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Strong experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript, including web application development.
- Solid understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Python & Java development is considered an asset
- Experience developing modern web applications and front-end integrations.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Nice to Have / Bonus Skills

Test Automation & Quality Engineering

- Experience designing, implementing, or maintaining test automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks such as:
- Selenium
- Playwright
- PyTest
- JUnit
- TestNG
- API testing frameworks

Infrastructure as Code (Highly Valued)

Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies, including:

- Terraform
- Ansible
- Packer (considered a significant asset)
