Contribute to BCIT’s Prosthetics and Orthotics program as a part-time Assistant Instructor. This role involves hands-on support for prosthetic fabrication instruction and student supervision in a lab setting.
The position offers approximately 49 hours over a 14-week term, requiring flexibility for both half-day and full-day shifts. You will assist in laboratory preparation, deliver technical demonstrations, and ensure the efficient operation of the fabrication environment. Collaborating closely with faculty and technicians, your focus will be on maintaining a secure, organized, and effective learning space.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing prosthetic fabrication labs
• Conduct technical demonstrations of fabrication procedures
• Supervise students during hands-on activities
• Promote safe practices in the lab environment
• Support faculty with practical instruction
Requirements:
• OPC Registered Prosthetic Technician preferred
• Proficiency in prosthetic fabrication techniques
• Strong commitment to laboratory safety
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to changing instructional needs
Support educational objectives and enhance students' practical skills in the Prosthetics field at BCIT.
