Advance Indigenous early learning as the Assistant Director at Kookum's Place in Winnipeg. This full time role centers on mentorship, community values, and play-based education.
As a key part of NETES, you will provide vital pedagogical leadership for children aged 2–6. Your focus will be on mentoring early childhood educators, ensuring high-quality programming aligned with MELCC standards. Working closely with the Director, your role will also involve supporting new staff and fostering an inclusive, culturally grounded environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mentor educators in real-time classroom settings
• Support new educators as they transition into their roles
• Model relationship-based caregiving and regulation practices
• Facilitate professional learning and follow-up discussions
• Enhance programming through cultural integration and emergent curriculum
Requirements:
• Experience in early childhood education
• Strong understanding of Indigenous pedagogy
• Excellent mentoring and leadership skills
• Ability to meet children’s developmental needs
