This role acts as a technical leader within the team, mentoring engineers and contributing to architectural and operational improvements.Key Responsibilities:Operational LeadershipLead resolution of major incidentsHandle high-complexity and high-impact issuesEnsure stability and performance across environmentsAdvanced Troubleshooting & DesignDiagnose complex, multi-layer issues across systemsDesign and validate solutions for network and security challengesProvide technical direction during incidents and changesProcess & ImprovementIdentify and implement operational efficienciesImprove monitoring, automation, and runbooksReduce recurring issues through proactive measuresTechnical Leadership & MentorshipMentor and support junior and intermediate engineersDrive knowledge sharing and technical standardsElevate overall team capabilitySecurity & Risk ManagementIdentify risks and vulnerabilities proactivelyEnsure a strong security posture across environmentsGuide best practices and standardsRequired Qualifications :Hard Skills:Expert-level understanding of TCP/IP and network architectureAdvanced experience with routing, switching, and security designDeep expertise in multiple vendors (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.)Strong knowledge of cloud networking, SD-WAN, SASE, and zero trustExperience with system integrations (automation)Must hold a valid Fortinet NSE 7 certification.Soft Skills:Strong leadership and mentoring abilityExcellent analytical and decision-making skillsAbility to operate under pressure during critical incidentsStrong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProactive mindset with focus on continuous improvementPrevious Experience:5+ years of network/security engineering experienceProven experience handling complex environments and incidentsPerformance Expectations:Operational PerformanceLeads critical incidents and improves team performanceHandles the highest complexity work with consistencyReduces escalation dependency across the teamTechnical CompetenceDeep expertise across multiple domains and systemsStrong system-level thinking and design capabilityDrives technical decisions and standardsBehaviour & Team ImpactActs as a leader and mentor within the teamDrives improvements and innovationElevates team performance and operational maturityCompensation & Benefits:Market-competitive salary.4 weeks of paid vacation plus 5 floater days starting in the first year.Paid sick days and personal days.Comprehensive group insurance (health, dental and life insurance).RRSP Matching Program.Exercise Subsidy (Gym, Sports, Wellness, etc.).Transportation Subsidy.Home Office Essentials SubsidyAccess to Udemy web-based trainingSecureOps is an equal opportunity employer.
