Off-Campus Education (OCE) Teacher

1.0 FTE Probationary Teacher with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Horizon School Division has an agreement with Careers The Next Generation that 0.2 FTE of this position is seconded to work and promote Careers and Internships as part of this role.

The Off-Campus Education Teacher reports to the Deputy Superintendent of Learner Services, and works collaboratively with school Principals, school staff, Career Practitioner Team, Post-Secondary Institutions, and community agencies/business partners and other stakeholders to:

- Provide programming, direction, and student support for off-campus education within Horizon School Division;

- Ensure health and safety provisions are being met.

Position Description/Specific Duties

- Select and approve employers.

- Conduct all worksite safety inspections for work experience, registered apprenticeship, Green Certificate and job shadow students.

- Recruiting, orienting and preparing students for off campus experiences.

- Assist schools with identifying students who are eligible for OCE programming and ensuring prerequisites are met.

- Ensuring students are registered for Dual Credit, Introduction to the Trades Pathways, and future Collegiate opportunities.

- Ensure work agreements and learning plans are created and followed.

- Monitor student progress at OCE sites.

- Complete all student evaluations.

- Document and maintain appropriate records.

- Continue to develop important partnerships with employers, agencies, post-secondary institutions, etc.

- Expand the OCE program through various initiatives: touring students through local industries, post-secondary institutions, and other initiatives.

- Collaborate with the Career Practitioners.





This position will commence on August 20, 2026. A reliable vehicle for daily travel to schools, student worksites, and other stakeholder sites is needed. This position requires some work over the summer months with longer vacation built in throughout the school year.
