Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Abacus Teacher to inspire young learners in mastering mental math skills through the traditional abacus method. Responsibilities

- Design and deliver engaging abacus lessons tailored to students’ age and skill levels, ensuring clear understanding of concepts
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation, curiosity, and confidence in math
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Incorporate technology and visual aids to enhance learning experiences and maintain student interest
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address individual learning needs




- Maintain organized lesson plans, attendance records, and student portfolios in compliance with school policies
- Support classroom management by promoting respectful behavior and encouraging peer collaboration

Experience

- Prior experience working with children in an educational or tutoring setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics, particularly mental calculation techniques using the abacus or similar tools
- Solid teaching or tutoring background with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Proficiency in computer skills for lesson planning, student tracking, and utilizing educational software
- Classroom experience that includes managing diverse learning styles and adapting instruction accordingly
- Familiarity with special education principles is a plus, enabling you to support students with unique learning needs
- Background or interest in computer science can be advantageous for integrating digital tools into lessons

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
