Senior Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting Actionmarguerite’s payroll function and will provide leadership to the Payroll Team to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions. The Coordinator works in collaboration with the payroll team to prepare, process, and submit bi‑weekly payroll, manage reporting requirements, and oversee year‑end processes using the HRIS. The role reports to the Human Resources Manager and supports all Actionmarguerite sites.

Service & Assignment: Human Resources. Starting date: As soon as possible. Shift and hours of work: 1.0 FTE, full‑time, currently 08:00‑16:15. Pay scale: As per established salary scale. Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the Payroll Team to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.
- Prepare, process, and submit bi‑weekly payroll through the HRIS.
- Generate and submit payroll related reports.
- Oversee year‑end payroll processes.
- Collaborate with the HR team and other departments to resolve payroll issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information.

Education and Experience

- Formal education in bookkeeping and payroll accounting (e.g., Canadian Payroll Association certification) or related education and experience in a computerized payroll environment.




- Five years of practical experience with complete payroll functions, preferably in a health care setting.
- Experience in a computerized payroll environment (knowledge of Quadrant Workforce is an asset).
- Demonstrated proficiency in a Windows setting and MS Office software.
- Experience working with collective agreements is an asset.

Abilities and Skills

- Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English); commitment to develop French linguistic abilities is required.
- Strong mathematical aptitude, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently without supervision.
- Ability to retain information on a confidential basis.
- Ability to identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain standard operating procedures, including documentation of key payroll processes.
- Must be in good physical and mental health.
- Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance.
- Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.
