Join SD42 as a Counselor in the Protected and Caring Schools program, effective September 1, 2026. This 0.8 FTE position focuses on promoting student development through individualized and group support.
As a critical member of SD42's counseling team, you'll facilitate personal growth in students through trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate strategies. Your role includes collaboration with school personnel, families, and community services to ensure well-rounded support for students across various schools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide diverse counseling services in small-group settings
• Help students enhance emotional regulation skills
• Address the needs of multiple school communities




• Collaborate on the creation of individualized support plans
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in counseling psychology or equivalent
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate & TQS card
• Successful counselling experience in elementary education
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Capacity to connect families with external resources
