Other elements may also include pay for performance programs (merit pay and discretionary annual performance bonuses), comprehensive health benefits and wellness programs, membership discounts, employee referral bonus, eligibility for our pension plan, career development programs, and career development/educational reimbursements.Accountabilities: How You Will Make an ImpactWe are seeking an engineer to fulfill the following responsibilities:Work in small cross-functional teams to develop enhanced methodologies for solving structural integrity problems for clientsPerform stress analysis using finite element methods, including non-linear analysis and dynamic analysis of piping, vessels, and equipmentLead and perform advanced fitness-for-service and fracture mechanics assessments for degraded piping, pressure vessels, and nuclear componentsCarry out ASME Code analyses, including Class 1 analysis of piping and components using computer tools and classical methodsDevelop and maintain computer programs to drive analysis workPrepare technical analysis reports and documentationWhat You Need to SucceedMinimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Science, or equivalent is required.Graduate-level studies (Master's or PhD) in one of the specialty areas is preferred.3 to 6 years of relevant experience; however exceptions can be made for highly qualified candidatesP.
Eng designation or actively pursuingASME Appendix XXIII qualification is an assetOPG and Bruce Power Security Clearance is an assetTechnical Knowledge and ExperienceStrong understanding and foundation in classical solid mechanicsFamiliarity with the design principles of vessels, piping, and supports Strong understanding of CANDU design, including reactor structures, feeders, primary heat transport ( PHT ) piping, and supportsExperience in flaw/defect acceptance evaluation, Level 2/3 FFS; using fracture mechanics approaches including J-integralFatigue and crack growth calculation under cyclic and thermal loadingDemonstrated experience in applying codes and standards including ASME Section III, CSA N285, CSA N289.3, B31.1, ASME FFS / API579, ASME Section VIII, ASME Section XIExperience in welding procedures qualification and applicationsFamiliarity with NDE technology and principles of inspection requirementsDemonstrated past examples of successful large-scale engineering simulations using advanced/novel computer technologyIn-depth experience using finite element software including ANSYS and ABAQUSAdvanced computer programming skills and knowledge, with experience using ANSYS APDL, Python, Matlab, Visual Basic, C++, and othersExperience using piping analysis programs including AutoPIPE, PIPESTRESS, and CAESAR IIOther CompetenciesProject management experience will be an assetExperience providing urgent operational support to clients and performing analysis under production pressureExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrates accountability and ownership of workThrives working as part of a teamWillingness to adapt and learn new areas of expertise as dictated by business needsThis role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process.
