This position serves our partners at the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The MNIT DEED team provides technical support to help improve employment conditions in Minnesota. The team supports work that improves workforce and community development, increases business recruitment, and helps Minnesota small businesses to expand into international trade.This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, automation, and continuous improvement of DEED's cloud-based and on-premises application hosting environments. The role supports mission-critical systems in AWS, Azure, Windows, Linux, and Unix environments, implements new cloud technologies, and leverages automation and cloud best practices to ensure secure,
reliable, and efficient delivery of infrastructure and application services.This position is telework eligible for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles of less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework.Teleworkarrangements and policy updates may be adjusted based on business needs.Minimum QualificationsTo qualify, candidates must clearly show all of the following qualifications in their resume. Resume tips availablehere:Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience in administering and supporting cloud and server infrastructure environments.Experience Must IncludeExperience implementing and supporting DevOps processes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices using tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or similar technologies.Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security services.Experience using scripting or automation technologies (e.G., Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash and YAML) to automate system administration, deployments, or operational tasks.Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure, operating system, application, or cloud service issues.Experience administering Linux and/or Windows server operating systems in enterprise environments.Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening,
