AI Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Overview

Our financial services client is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to support a current enterprise AI initiative focused on developing intelligent solutions for internal users. This role will design, build, and deploy production-ready AI and machine learning solutions, collaborating closely with engineering, data, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative applications.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop end-to-end AI/ML pipelines from data preparation through production deployment
- Build and deploy LLM-powered applications using modern AI frameworks
- Develop scalable APIs and microservices to serve AI models
- Implement MLOps practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and model lifecycle management
- Work with structured and unstructured data to build production-ready solutions
- Collaborate with data engineering, cloud, DevOps, and product teams
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and prototype innovative solutions
- Document technical designs and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders

Required Qualifications




- 10+ years of software engineering, AI, or machine learning experience
- Strong Python programming skills, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, or deep learning
- Strong knowledge of MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience deploying AI solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have
- Banking or financial services experience
- Previous experience working within large financial institutions
- Agile delivery experience
