About the Role

Bosley’s by Pet Valu – Esplanade is looking for a reliable and experienced Assistant Store Manager to help lead our North Vancouver location.

We are looking for someone with strong retail leadership experience who can support the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, lead and coach employees, provide excellent customer service, and help maintain strong inventory and merchandising standards.

Previous experience with Bosley’s, Tisol, Pet Valu or another pet specialty retailer is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Help lead day-to-day store operations, sales and customer service
- Supervise employees and provide leadership during assigned shifts
- Open and close the store when required
- Train, coach and support current and existing team members
- Assign tasks and help maintain an organized and productive team
- Provide customers with knowledgeable product and pet-care guidance
- Support inventory management, ordering and stock accuracy
- Use AGR to manage inventory and product levels
- Coordinate receiving, stock checks and backroom organization
- Maintain merchandising standards, promotions and seasonal resets
- Help monitor store performance and support sales goals
- Handle cash, shift balancing, banking and routine store administration
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe store environment
- Support the Store Manager and assume additional responsibility for store operations when required
- Safely lift products weighing up to 50 lb

What We’re Looking For





Required

- Previous retail experience
- Previous leadership experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Key Holder or similar role
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to supervise, coach and motivate employees
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with inventory, receiving and merchandising
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn retail systems
- Ability to reliably commute to our North Vancouver location
- Availability for a flexible full-time retail schedule, including weekends and opening/closing shifts
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lb

Strongly Preferred:
- Previous experience with Bosley’s, Tisol, Pet Valu or another pet specialty retailer
- Knowledge of pet food, nutrition, pet supplies and general pet care
- Previous AGR inventory-management experience

Assets:
- Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge
- QuickBooks experience
- Microsoft Office experience
