We're looking for a robust infrastructure and platform engineer to support and operate critical actuarial compute platforms within a financial services environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across Windows-based compute, AWS cloud infrastructure, storage, access controls, and vendor-integrated actuarial systems, and brings a production stability and automation mindset.
What You'll Do
- Support and enhance actuarial compute platforms including GGY AXIS, GlaaS, Beowulf HPC, AWS S3 and EC2 resources, UAC workflow orchestration, SSIS and ETL pipelines, and external data integrations
- Maintain and optimize AWS-hosted actuarial compute infrastructure including GGY eLink, queue managers, compute nodes, and supporting database services used for actuarial modeling workloads
- Support hybrid storage patterns using AWS Storage Gateway and S3-backed file shares bridging on-premises actuarial storage and cloud platforms
- Administer and improve IAM roles, access controls, KMS-backed encryption, and shared AWS platform capabilities
- Participate in production support, incident response, operational monitoring, patching, and platform reliability activities to keep actuarial model runs and quarter-end processing stable
- Partner with engineering, actuarial,
and vendor teams to manage upgrades, infrastructure changes, platform risk remediation, and modernization efforts
- Improve disaster recovery, backup, resiliency, and capacity planning for business-critical actuarial systems
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure and platform engineering
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, KMS, and Storage Gateway
- Comfort working across Windows-based compute platforms and hybrid storage environments
- Experience supporting ETL pipelines and workflow orchestration tools
- Familiarity with access control administration and cloud security best practices
- Experience with production support, incident response, and operational monitoring
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Eligibility for a mandatory background check
Nice to have
- Familiarity with actuarial platforms such as GGY AXIS or GlaaS
- Experience supporting HPC environments or queue-based compute workloads
- Background in financial services or insurance technology infrastructure
Work setup
- Hybrid in Toronto, ON
