Overview Work Location: AgeCare Mount Royal, 1813 9th StSW Calgary, AB.

FTE: 0.4.

Employment Type: Temporary.

The Registered

Nurse (RN) reports to the Director of Care and works collaboratively to deliver resident care that meets individual needs within the RN’s level of competency. The RN integrates knowledge, skills, judgment and interpersonal attributes to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services. The RN promotes teamwork, a culture supporting AgeCare’s mission, vision and guiding principles of respect, teamwork and quality, and encourages practices that respect resident, family and staff rights, individuality and diversity.

The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace and continually fosters an environment that prevents harm and injury to residents.

Responsibilities - Coordinate nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services in the residence.

- Lead shift reports with members of the health‑care team, ensuring all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.
- Record significant changes in residents’ condition and ensure documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies, procedures and the Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.
- Review and process physician orders as per procedure and ensure they are implemented promptly.




- Communicate any difficulties in processing physician orders to the Director of Care or Assistant Director of Care.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, staff and the community.

Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

- Sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long‑term care nursing, including activation, nursing and personnel administration.
- Knowledge of the Long‑Term Care Act and Regulations, relevant sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada), Health Promotion and Protection Act, Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice and other pertinent federal, provincial and municipal statutes that influence nursing home operations.
- Registration and membership in good standing with the provincial nursing registry.
