Responsibilities

- Review applications, renewals, and revisions to existing policies
- Determine action required to improve risk and recommend restrictions to coverages or revisions to deductibles or premiums based on analysis of the risk
- Determine appropriate rates, apply applicable discounts and surcharges, and calculate premiums




- Process new applications, renewals, revisions, cancellations, and quotes
- Answer inquiries
- Develop correspondence to request information and explain underwriting requirements and decisions
- Train and provide guidance to clerical staff
- Perform quality control checks
- Test the accuracy of information systems

Qualifications

- Completion of Grade 12 education
- Completion of at least one Insurance Institute course with a positive commitment toward the CIP designation, demonstrated by completing two Institute courses per year
- One year of related insurance experience
- Knowledge of rating of policies and related underwriting practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
