Overview The Enderby & District Curling Club is seeking applications for the position of a Bar Manager for a six (6) month period September 2026 to March 2027, under an Independent Contractor agreement. The Club is a volunteer-run non-profit with approximately 150 members. League play runs Tuesday–Friday evenings and Tuesday/Thursday afternoons for 20 weeks, plus several bonspiels.

The bar and lounge are central to the member experience and we’re looking for someone to operate and enhance the overall environment.

Responsibilities

- The Bar Manager shall be responsible for the overall operation of the curling club’s licensed lounge and beverage service.
- The role will ensure exceptional customer service, responsible liquor service, financial accountability, regulatory compliance, inventory control, and a welcoming atmosphere for members, guests, leagues, bonspiels, rentals, and special events. The bar Manager supervises volunteer bar staff, manages day-to-day operations, and works collaboratively with club management, volunteers, and event organizers to support the club’s mission and member experience,

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in accordance with health regulations
- Monitor inventory levels,



place orders for supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, addressing concerns promptly, and creating a lively atmosphere

What we are looking for:

- People-oriented and reliable — volunteer recruitment is relationship-based, not administrative.
- Someone who will own the responsibility, be creative with the operation of the bar and food selection.
- Comfortable handling cash and completing basic financial records.
- Holds (or willing to obtain before season start) a valid Serve It Right License and Food Secure Certificate.
- Available Tuesday–Friday evenings throughout the season.

Experience with supervising or team management in similar environments would be an asset.
