About Us
Legislative Television provides uninterrupted broadcast and archival recording of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly including all legislative proceedings, special events, and press briefings. We are seeking an Audio Visual Technician with experience working in a non-partisan environment to support our video team as we continue to provide excellent service to the Members of the Legislature, Caucus Offices, and Public.
About Our Opportunity
As the Audio/Video Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of broadcast equipment, software and workflows related to the uninterrupted broadcast and archival recording of high-quality audio and video, and the operation and support of the virtual platform for the Nova Scotia House of Assembly Legislative proceedings, including but not limited to Legislative committees, special events, and press briefings.
Qualifications And Experience
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a high school completion, a 1-year post-secondary course in Broadcasting along with 4 years of related experience; an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
As the ideal candidate you have knowledge of audio and video broadcast environments, systems, and their implications within challenging political and historical environments. You also understand, and have experience with, broadcast technology, trends, and industry best practices.
While not required, a technical background in audio production, television broadcasting and/or electronics is an asset.
We will assess the above qualifications using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Additional Information
This is a TERM employment opportunity with an anticipated end date of August 1, 2027. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
Pay Grade
TE 18 - TE 20
Salary Range
$2,046.28 - $2,601.38 Bi-Weekly
