HomeWise Plumbing & Drainage is looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who has experience in business management, understands how a trades or service-based company operates, and is extremely methodical, organized and detail-oriented.

You should be good with people, comfortable managing a team, and understand how to drive profits, control expenses and improve the way a business operates.

This is a hands-on position working directly with ownership and overseeing many different areas of the company.

What You'll Be Doing

- Managing the day-to-day business operations and stepping in for front-end management when needed
- Working with ownership to improve efficiency, profitability and company systems
- Managing and developing our team, including HR, hiring, employee files, benefits and WorkSafeBC matters
- Overseeing accounts receivable and customer payment follow-up
- Reviewing expenses, credit card statements and accounts payable
- Working directly with our accountant and bookkeeper
- Managing advertising, marketing, social media and online reviews
- Using ServiceTitan to its full potential and continuing to improve our systems
- Managing company compliance including permits, gas decals, backflow certificates and ITA registrations
- Overseeing vans, equipment, inventory and maintenance
- Keeping business documents and records organized and up to date
- Handling business management emails and customer issues
- Planning meetings, company events and other team activities
- Identifying problems and finding practical solutions




- Helping every member of the team be as successful as possible

What We Are Looking For The right person will have:
- Experience in business management or a similar leadership role
- Experience with a trades, construction or service-based company is strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong understanding of business finances, expenses and profitability
- Experience managing people and handling difficult conversations when necessary
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and use business software
- Good judgment, discretion and attention to detail

We are looking for someone who can look at the business as a whole, identify what is working and what isn't, and then actually do something about it. We are not looking for someone who simply wants to maintain the way things are. We want someone who wants to help us build a better business.
