The CICE Field placement Coordinator is responsible for working alongside College employees in the

CICE department for the development and support of field placement opportunities for CICE students.

This includes networking with local businesses, identifying recent opportunities, maintaining student and business information and databases was well as supporting the College in the support of the CICE program and its students.

Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position

Additional Requirements

Proven ability to work with and provide employment services for individuals with cognitive challenges, physical disabilities, or mental health challenges.

Word processing, database management, and experience using adaptive technologies.

Field(s) of Study

Must possess a post-secondary diploma in a related field of study: Human Services Diploma,





Developmental Services Worker; Social Services Worker; and/or Child and Youth Care.

Experience

Typical number of years of experience, in addition to the necessary education level, required to perform the responsibilities of the position

Type of Experience

- Special education training or experience is considered an asset
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) as well as conflict resolution skills
- Effective planning, time management, and organizational skills to set priorities accordingly
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical reasoning skills to provide alternate options

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of community agencies is considered an asset
