Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and culturally aware Clinic Manager to lead our Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Clinic Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of primary healthcare services to Indigenous communities in our catchment area, ensuring the integration of culturally safe, client-centered, and holistic care. This position requires an experienced healthcare leader with a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and values, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with an interprofessional team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, manage, and supervise the clinic staff at the Tyendinaga location, which may include physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, social workers, other allied healthcare providers and administrative staff.

- Oversee workload distribution, scheduling, performance management and evaluation of clinic staff and provide constructive feedback.

- Ensure clinic staff adhere to best practices, standards of care and regulatory requirements.

- Foster collaboration among team members and external partners to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes.

- Participate and/or lead various working groups as a representative of the organisation.

- Ensure that culturally safe, trauma-informed care practices are embedded in all healthcare services provided to Indigenous individuals and families.

- Coordinate the delivery of integrated primary healthcare services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, mental health support, and community health initiatives.

- Support and assist in the implementation and evaluation of both new and ongoing clinic programs as needed.

- Collaborate and provide input into implementation of clinic protocols, pathways, and guidelines to optimize patient outcomes, and enhance care delivery.





- Work closely with healthcare providers, ensuring that services are accessible, relevant, and effective for Indigenous patients.

- Monitor the quality of care and service delivery, identifying areas for improvement and leading quality improvement initiatives.

- Draft policies for approval by Executive Director.

- Support implementation of polices and procedures, review policies annually and update as necessary.

- Assist with development of funding proposals and applications and program implementation.

- Advocate for the unique health needs of Indigenous populations and contribute to policy development and healthcare strategies that enhance service delivery.

- Manage budget, resources, and staffing needs in collaboration with Executive Director.

- In collaboration with Executive Director, support review of the quarterly financial and performance reporting to funders.

- Collaborate in the development of the annual Quality Improvement Plan data collection and submission.

- Promote cultural competency and sensitivity within the healthcare team, ensuring ongoing education about Indigenous health issues, history, and cultural practices.

- Ensure that health data collection, reporting, and analysis are aligned with ethical guidelines and Indigenous data sovereignty principles.

- Collaborate with external healthcare organizations, agencies, and partners to ensure continuity of care for Indigenous patients.

- In partnership with the Executive Director,



ensuring full compliance with all applicable legislation impacting the clinic such as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario Employment Standards.

- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information for personnel and patients with legislative standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (Master's preferred).

- Current registration with a relevant qualified body (e.g., RN, RPN, SW, etc.).

- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, 2 years of leadership experience preferred.

- In-depth understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and healthcare needs.

- Experience working in Indigenous healthcare settings.

- Strong knowledge of Indigenous health issues, social determinants of health, and cultural safety principles.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse teams and communities.

- Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment and advocate for Indigenous health priorities.

- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Knowledge of relevant healthcare policies, programs, and funding models for Indigenous health services.

Working Conditions:

- This position may require occasional travel-to communities within the catchment area, for training and/or conferences and to other healthcare locations.

- Flexibility in work hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, to meet clinic needs.

- Ability to maintain a close working relationship with Executive Director including receiving direction, guidance and encouragement and discuss plans and priorities for the clinic.
