CNC Machine Programmer

Reports to

Engineering Project Manager

Summary The CNC Machine Programmer is responsible for ensuring the company’s quality standards are met through engineering methods utilizing best of practice principles. Responsible for creating, maintaining and troubleshooting all CNC programming on all machines (present and future).

Responsibilities

· Provide daily programs for CNC Machines

· Load CNC programs into the computer and select raw material options to be used.

· Analyze material utilization and make improvements to the CNC programming to achieve desired improvements.

· Use Enterprise Resource Planning systems to review and adjust for changes in parts requirements.

· Make recommendations on raw material inventory levels based on the production schedule and anticipated material utilization.

· Adjust existing programs to accommodate product redesigns or production changes.

· Program and set-up for all CNC machines presently operated by the Company, as well as all future machines to be purchased

· Define and control production process, including tooling & equipment

· Read and interpret drawings

· Maintain organized program files

· Ability to set up, program and troubleshoot CNC machines

· Recognize, deploy and properly use of inserts and tools

· Continuous improvement on minimizing the amount of setup time for machine operators

· Identify and improve manufacturing processes

· Continuous improvement on product/part design

· Design work as required.

· Training and guiding technicians/operators if necessary

· The individual works with other members of the engineering and production team

· He/she should assist engineering and production team in overcoming challenges of part manufacturing

· Act as a liaison between Engineering & Manufacturing

· The individual should be able to work with all cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, marketing); be able to pay attention to details, have positive organization skills,



can prioritize tasks and be able to work independently, under pressure and with tight deadlines

· Performs quality control checks

· Logging and resolving technical inquiries

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies when necessary

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

· Work in tandem with various departments and maintain a flexible attitude supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals. They are accountable for maintaining high levels of customer service, be it internal or external.

· Follow and enforce all health and safety regulations

· Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety guarding and general safe working practices

· Enforce proper safety equipment and follow safe working practices.

· Perform other duties as assigned and assist throughout the office and production when required

· Establishment of guidelines with you to ensure Lucebella and any of its operating companies’ standard is set and adhered to

· Wear proper safety equipment and follow safe working practices

· Work is performed in a combination of environments

· Overtime as required

Qualifications:

· CNC programming experience using TruTop software from Trumpf

· Operation experience with Trumpf fabrication equipment

· Experience using AutoCAD

· Experience using SolidWorks an asset

· Demonstrated project coordination skills; well organized, attentive to details

· Ability to work both as an individual and in a team environment

· Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
