Job Summary:
Domrick Dollar Store & Bakeshop Ltd is a locally operated retail and bakery business serving customers in Red Deer, Alberta and is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare and cook a variety of food and baked items. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining food quality and supporting daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook complete meals.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation
- Assist with food preparation schedules
- Maintain inventory and records of food and kitchen supplies
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and work areas
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Supervise and assist kitchen helpers as needed
- Receive and properly store food supplies
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and production schedules
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures
- Modify recipes as required for quality control
- Portion and package prepared foods
Employment Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school
- Previous experience as a cook or food preparation experience is preferred. Training may be provided for candidates with related kitchen experience.
- Knowledge of basic cooking and baking techniques
- Food Safety Certificate required or willingness to obtain upon hiring
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
