Reporting to the Manager, CTS Ancillary Services, the Print Services Team Lead coordinates the daily operations of Lakeland College's Print & Mail Services. This role combines hands-on production work with technical leadership to ensure high-quality print services are delivered efficiently and professionally.
The successful candidate will oversee production workflows, coordinate work assignments, maintain specialized printing equipment, support staff development, and identify opportunities to improve services while providing outstanding customer service
Key Responsibilities
Print Production & Customer Service
- Coordinate daily print production and prioritize incoming requests.
- Produce high-quality print materials using digital production equipment and wide-format printers.
- Operate and maintain a variety of print finishing equipment including laminators, cutters, folders, binders, shrink wrap, and related machinery.
- Prepare and manipulate digital files using Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Publisher, Canva, and other print management software.
- Provide print consultations, quotations, timelines, and recommendations to internal and external customers.
- Produce wide-format signage, posters, banners, displays, and specialty print products.
- Process chargebacks, invoices, payments,
and print service records.
- Support daily mail operations by providing backup coverage signing for deliveries
Team Leadership
- Coordinate workflow and assign print production priorities.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership and coaching to Print Services staff.
- Coordinate staffing coverage during vacations and absences.
- Train new employees on equipment, procedures, and safety practices.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast supply requirements.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain specialized print production equipment and coordinate vendor service calls.
- Research new technologies and recommend equipment improvements.
- Support contract discussions related to print services.
- Analyze printing trends and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Help expand internal and external print services to maximize value for the College.
Job Requirements
- Two-year college diploma in Graphic Communications, Printing Technology, business, or related field.
- Experience in operating production printers and print finishing equipment would be an asset
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Publisher, Canva, Foxit PDF,
Fiery Command Workstation, FTP software, and print management system is an asset.
- Experience providing technical leadership or coordinating staff
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is an asset
- Excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Compensation and Benefits This is an AUPE full-time permanent position based at Lakeland College's Vermilion campus with a salary range of $58,144 - $73,275
