The Production Control Coordinator – West is responsible for coordinating production planning, performance visibility, and cross-functional alignment across Suncor's Western and U.S. Midstream operations. Acting as the central integrator between the Midstream, Supply, Trading & Optimization, Transportation and Commercial, this role provides end-to-end visibility of the supply plan, supports forecasting (MEC, aligned assumptions, short-term production plans), and ensures consistency in assumptions, timing, and communication across stakeholders.

The Production Control Coordinator monitors performance against plan, identifies risks and misalignments, and facilitates timely, informed decision-making. The role also serves as a key communication point during operational disruptions and project changes, while contributing to value generation through improved visibility, coordination, and performance insights. This role also serves the site process lead for the OEMS Manage Quality Products process.

The position is located in Calgary but other locations in Western Canada may be considered (Edmonton, Vancouver).

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate cross-functional production planning activities, ensuring alignment across Operations, Supply, Trading & Optimization, and Transportation
- Maintain an integrated, end-to-end view of the supply plan and ensure consistency in assumptions, priorities, and timelines




- Monitor performance against plan (e.g., MEC, maintenance, supply) and identify risks, variances, and required actions
- Coordinate Midstream monthly forecasting processes and enhance performance discussions to enable timely and informed decision-making
- Act as the central Midstream communication point for operational issues, risks, and project impacts, facilitating timely resolution
- Identify and escalate misalignment between project schedules and supply requirements
- Own Loss of Value (LOV) tracking and contribute to value realization through improved visibility and coordination
- Act as Site Process Lead for Manage Quality Products and drive continuous improvement in planning and tracking processes
- Integrate inputs across assets and stakeholders to provide a consistent, system-wide perspective
- Engage with field teams through periodic site visits to maintain alignment and support execution

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, business, or a related field
- Experience in midstream operations, production control, scheduling, or production accounting is an asset
- Experience with SAP and reporting/analytics tools (Excel, Power BI)
