Reporting to the President, the Director of Maintenance serves as Flightpath's principal technical authority, providing strategic leadership for the organization's maintenance and continuing airworthiness programs. Working closely with Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs), aircraft owners, and internal stakeholders, you'll help ensure our fleet remains safe, compliant, reliable, and operationally ready while supporting the continued growth of the organization.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the organization's maintenance and continuing airworthiness programs for Canadian and United States registered aircraft.
- Establish maintenance strategies that maximize fleet availability, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, FAA, manufacturer, and company requirements while maintaining the integrity of aircraft maintenance records and maintenance documentation.
- Develop, draft, update, and maintain maintenance manuals, technical procedures, control documents, and related operational documentation to reflect regulatory requirements and evolving organizational practices.
- Conduct the organization's final technical review and acceptance of maintenance documentation received from third-party Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) and technical service providers, ensuring records are accurate, complete, compliant, and supported by the required technical and regulatory documentation while coordinating the timely resolution of any deficiencies, technical discrepancies, or regulatory concerns prior to acceptance into the organization's maintenance records.
- Provide technical leadership during significant maintenance events, Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations, regulatory audits, inspections, operational risk assessments, and maintenance quality assurance activities, including technical review of findings and corrective action planning to support ongoing regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Develop strong partnerships with Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs), OEMs, technical vendors, and regulatory authorities to deliver safe, responsive, and cost-effective maintenance services.




- Act as a trusted technical advisor to aircraft owners and executive leadership by providing practical recommendations on maintenance planning, lifecycle decisions, technical risk, and major maintenance events.
- Support aircraft acquisitions, transitions, pre-purchase inspections, major modifications, and aircraft onboarding activities by providing technical expertise and maintenance due diligence.
- Partner with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Owner Services, Finance, Safety, and Charter Operations to support exceptional operational performance and client service.
- Manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, vendor performance, and major maintenance expenditures while identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term fleet value.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and decision-ready technical reports, maintenance recommendations, audit responses, executive briefings, and aircraft owner communications.
- Champion a proactive culture of safety, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while serving as a trusted technical leader across the organization.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have over 7 years of aviation experience.
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence or equivalent aviation maintenance qualification; a Canadian AME licence is strongly preferred.
- Progressive leadership experience in aircraft maintenance, continuing airworthiness, maintenance control, technical services, or a comparable oversight role within business or commercial aviation, with demonstrated success leading technical teams, programs, or maintenance operations.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), with experience supporting United States registered aircraft and FAA regulatory requirements considered a significant asset.
- Experience overseeing outsourced maintenance activities and working closely with AMOs, OEMs, specialized vendors, and independent technical providers.
- Demonstrated success supporting or leading fleet maintenance programs, technical records, regulatory audits, complex maintenance events, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.
- Experience reviewing and validating maintenance documentation produced by external providers, with a strong understanding of records integrity, regulatory compliance, technical acceptance, and documentation control.
- Experience identifying and resolving incomplete, inaccurate or non-compliant maintenance documentation, while working collaboratively with third-party maintenance providers.




- Experience supporting aviation quality assurance, audits, compliance monitoring, corrective actions and the development of maintenance technical manuals, procedures, and regulatory documentation.
- Sound financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, work scope evaluation, invoice review, and lifecycle cost management.
- Strategic thinking and sound technical judgement.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance, continuing airworthiness, and regulatory compliance, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and foster trusted relationships with aircraft owners, regulatory authorities, maintenance providers, and internal stakeholders through a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
- Solid communication (verbal and written), analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear business recommendations and make informed decisions in time-sensitive operational environments.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional owner experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) and aviation technology platforms, including aircraft maintenance tracking, maintenance records, document management, and reporting systems. Experience with maintenance management software such as CAMP or similar platforms is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage technology, digital workflows, and aviation maintenance systems to improve operational performance, documentation integrity, regulatory compliance, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
