EMPLOYMENT PROSPECT

Competition # 26-14 Custodian – 30 hrs per week (Temporary) Dease Lake School

School District 87 serves students and families on the unceded traditional territories of the Kaska, Tahltan, and Tlingit First Nations and we honour these relationships. This part-time temporary position is 30 hours per week to start immediately and remain effective until return of the incumbent. Terms and conditions of employment are governed by the C.U.P.E. local 2052-02 Collective Agreement. Rate of pay is $31.50 per hour. Terms and conditions of employment, including municipal pension, travel allowance and a full benefit package, are governed by the C.U.P.E. (Local 2052-02) Collective Agreement.

The incumbent must have knowledge, skills & abilities in the following areas:





- Competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to this position.
- Be able to work both independently and as a team member.
- Previous experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Physically capable of performing all assigned duties (includes walking, standing, stooping, reaching, lifting, moving furniture, and carrying equipment & materials).
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems and manage time effectively.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in dealing with all matters pertaining to students and staff.
