Enterprise Data Lead / Interim Head of Data

Contract: 6-12 Months

Hourly Rate: $130-$160/hour

We're supporting a large scale transformation program for a rapidly growing Canadian aviation services organization undergoing the integration of multiple businesses, operational platforms and finance systems.

Following the consolidation of three businesses into a single operating model, the organization is establishing a future-state data architecture that will support operational systems, integrations, reporting and a multi-wave NetSuite implementation.

The successful candidate will own the data workstream end-to-end, defining data ownership, governance, migration strategy, integration architecture and cutover readiness while working closely with business stakeholders, developers, vendors and systems integrators.

Responsibilities

- Design the future-state data architecture and canonical data model, establishing a single source of truth across multiple business entities
- Define authoritative systems, master data ownership, governance processes and data standards
- Design how data flows across operational platforms, integrations, ERP and reporting environments
- Lead data migration activities including extraction, cleansing, mapping, validation, reconciliation and cutover planning
- Establish practical governance frameworks covering ownership, stewardship, quality and decision rights
- Coordinate vendors, systems integrators, developers and business stakeholders across the data workstream
- Define reconciliation, monitoring and exception management processes
- Support SIT, UAT, mock loads, cutover and go-live readiness activities




- Roll up your sleeves when required to investigate source systems, validate data and unblock delivery teams

Ideal Background We're interested in candidates who have previously led:

- Enterprise data transformation programs
- Multi-system integration initiatives
- ERP data migration projects
- Master data management (MDM) initiatives
- Data governance transformations
- Multi-entity or M&A; integration programs
- Operational-to-finance data integration programs
- Data workstreams supporting ERP, operational systems and reporting platforms

Experience Required

- 10+ years in data architecture, integration, migration, or data transformation leadership roles
- Experience designing enterprise data architecture, canonical data models, authoritative systems of record, and single-source-of-truth strategies
- Experience establishing data governance, ownership, stewardship, and data quality frameworks
- Robust understanding of master data management and authoritative system design
- Experience designing integration between operational systems, ERP platforms, and reporting layers
- Hands-on understanding of SQL, APIs, data mappings, extraction, transformation, and migration processes
- Experience with testing, reconciliation, cutover planning, and go-live readiness
- Strong stakeholder, vendor, and cross-functional leadership experience

- Data Governance Managers without delivery experience
- Individual contributors
- Candidates whose experience is limited to a single area of the data lifecycle
