We are recruiting an experienced Design Systems Application Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry. NOTE: Must be able to work onsite 100% of the time in Windsor, ON Must be willing and able to travel the United States and Mexico, without restrictions, effective on the start date.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center, primarily responsible for managing system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of the Driveline System
- Design Systems / Applications Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer for multiple programs
- Driveline System hardware system responsible (integration and system balancing of all EDM gearbox components)
- Interfacing with individual Design Release Engineers and COEs
- Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals
- Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders
- Manage Driveline System and Interface DFMEA / DRBFM (team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions
- Supports CE & ACE to develop FTE and ER&D;/ED&D; Cost Rollups for Minor/MCA/ New Programs
- Review and approve all change notices ensuring checklists, LL, and EBPs are updated and aligned
- Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with PRC, DVC and VO teams




- Reviews driveline system and applicable component "Validation Completion" status with DVC team periodically & provides update to CE
- Coordinates DRBTR review and keeper of "follow up items" and decision maker on issuing GIMS for buds of problems
- Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams working closely with ACE, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Min of a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical engineering or Electrical Engineering - Master’s preferred
- Performance in graduate/undergraduate at 80% GPA
- Strong communication skills essential - present to leadership and able to communicate with cross functional teams

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

- $37.00-$41.00/ hour (depending on experience)
