Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drywall Finisher / Taper & Painter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall taping, mudding, sanding, and preparing walls and ceilings for a professional paint finish.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working on residential, commercial, renovation, and new-construction projects. Strong attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to produce smooth, high-quality finishes are essential.

Responsibilities – Drywall Finishing

- Apply drywall tape and joint compound to seams, joints, inside corners, outside corners, and fastener holes.
- Apply multiple coats of joint compound as required to achieve a smooth and seamless finish.
- Install and finish corner bead and other drywall finishing accessories.
- Use taping knives, trowels, mud pans, hawks, automatic taping tools, flat boxes, corner tools, and other drywall finishing equipment.
- Sand finished drywall surfaces using hand sanders, pole sanders, or power sanding equipment.
- Identify and repair imperfections such as cracks, dents, damaged joints, nail/screw pops, and uneven surfaces.
- Complete drywall patches and repairs on existing walls and ceilings.
- Prepare finished drywall to meet required finish levels and ensure surfaces are ready for primer and paint.
- Protect floors, windows, doors, fixtures, and surrounding finished surfaces while performing taping and sanding work.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly clean tools and equipment.




- Work efficiently to meet project schedules while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Follow all job-site safety procedures, including proper use of ladders, scaffolding, stilts, and personal protective equipment.

Painting Responsibilities

- Prepare walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other surfaces for painting.
- Apply primer to new drywall and repaired areas.
- Apply finish coats to walls and ceilings using rollers, brushes, or airless spray equipment.
- Paint trim, baseboards, doors, frames, and other finished surfaces as required.
- Perform masking and covering of floors, windows, fixtures, cabinets, and other surfaces before spraying or painting.
- Perform minor caulking, filling, sanding, and surface preparation before painting.
- Inspect completed work for proper coverage, consistency, and finish quality.
- Complete touch-ups and deficiencies before final inspection or turnover.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in drywall taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing.
- Ability to produce smooth, paint-ready drywall finishes.
- Experience with automatic taping tools such as tapers, flat boxes, angle heads, and corner rollers is an asset.
- Experience with airless paint spraying, rolling, brushing,



and surface preparation is an asset.
- Knowledge of different joint compounds, tapes, primers, and paint products.
- Ability to identify and correct drywall and paint deficiencies.
- Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, and stilts when required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced residential and commercial construction environments.
- Knowledge of job-site safety requirements and proper use of PPE.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is considered an asset:

- Current residential and multi-unit construction
- Commercial construction
- Renovations and restoration work
- Drywall repairs and patching
- Level 4 and Level 5 drywall finishing
- Automatic taping tools
- Airless paint spraying
- Interior wall and ceiling painting
- Trim, door, and baseboard painting
- Caulking and minor surface repairs

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their craftsmanship and can consistently deliver clean, smooth, professional-quality drywall and paint finishes while meeting project schedules and safety standards. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.60-$31.95 per hour
