Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic art curricula aligned with early childhood education standards and tailored to diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities and those in special education programs.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration, and individual artistic expression.
- Use instructional design principles to plan lessons that incorporate various media, techniques, and art history concepts suitable for elementary-aged children.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Adapt teaching strategies for students with disabilities or special needs,
ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in all activities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and support staff to coordinate interdisciplinary lessons that reinforce core subjects like math and writing through art projects.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, instructional techniques, and inclusive practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, and colleagues about lesson objectives, student progress, and classroom activities using strong communication skills.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting is essential.
- Demonstrated experience designing engaging lesson plans that incorporate arts education principles for early learners.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices to foster developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Robust communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students’ families.
- Background in tutoring or instructional design related to arts integration or core academic subjects such as math or writing is a plus.
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
