Lead the System That Helps Nova Scotians Recover If you've ever looked at a tangled ecosystem of applications, integrations, releases, cloud services, and business processes and thought, "I can make this better," keep reading. The Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia is looking for a Manager of Guidewire to lead the evolution of one of the organization's most critical technology platforms. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex systems problems, building high-performing technical teams, and creating order from chaos. You'll work at the intersection of technology, product strategy, and business operations—guiding the future of our Guidewire Cloud ecosystem while helping deliver meaningful outcomes for injured workers and employers across the province. What You'll Actually Be Doing Think of yourself as the captain of a technology ecosystem. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering enhancements, integrations, releases, automation initiatives, and platform improvements across the Guidewire suite. One day you might be reviewing deployment strategies and CI/CD pipelines. The next, you'll be helping prioritize a cloud release, untangling integration challenges, or shaping a roadmap with business leaders. You’ll be responsible for: Lead a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, QA professionals, DevOps engineers, and project resources. Set priorities, remove obstacles, and make key delivery decisions. Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate complex operational needs into practical technology outcomes. Owning a Cloud Platform at Scale Drive the roadmap for enhancements across the Guidewire Cloud platform. Lead planning and execution of Guidewire Cloud releases. Balance new capabilities, platform stability, technical debt reduction, automation opportunities, and operational excellence. Ensure production remains stable while continuously improving it. Solving Interesting Technical Problems You’ll work with technologies and concepts such as: Enterprise integrations APIs and event-driven architectures Release management System reliability and scalability Cross-platform data flows You’ll collaborate closely on solutions spanning: ClaimCenter PolicyCenter SmartCOMM Cloud External enterprise systems Building Systems That Don't Wake People Up at 2 A.M. Improve release quality and predictability. Strengthen regression and integration testing strategies. Reduce operational risk. Increase platform resilience and performance. You’ll tackle real-world enterprise challenges involving integrations, automation, reliability, and scale. The work matters. Every improvement helps support workers and employers throughout Nova Scotia. What You Bring You're someone who enjoys system design as much as delivery strategy. Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. 5+ years in technical product management, delivery leadership, or a similar role. Experience with Guidewire or comparable insurance platforms. Experience working in cloud environments. Leadership experience guiding technical teams and delivery outcomes. Technical Cred You have a strong understanding of: API design and integrations Event-driven architectures Data flows and system connectivity Cloud-based platforms CI/CD and DevOps practices Agile delivery and technology leadership Most importantly, you can comfortably move between architecture conversations with engineers and strategic conversations with executives.
