- Community College diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in a field related to child studies/ social services
- Demonstrated knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- 3-5 years experience working with children/youth with special needs, preferably with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of community services and resources and knowledge of referral process required for accessing resources
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal team work, leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability for initiative, problem-solving, organization and prioritization within a quick-paced and changing environment
- Participate in a criminal reference screening process
- Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
- Fluency in French would be an asset

Days, and evenings as needed The Family Service Coordinator (FSC) is the primary point of contact for families entering the McMaster Children’s Hospital - Autism Program. Working closely with internal and external care providers, the FSC’s primary responsibilities include service selection, coordination, and assistance to families.

The McMaster Children’s Hospital Autism Program is an ambulatory service for children and youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. These services have strong links to McMaster University’s Department of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, the Offord Centre for Child Studies; an internationally acclaimed research centre focused on children with emotional and behavioural challenges.
