Just HR has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to lead HR strategy for a key operational portfolio within a large, unionized environment. This role is designed for a seasoned HR leader who can influence at a senior level, guide complex employee relations matters, and shape workforce strategies that drive performance, stability, and long-term operational success. Acting as a critical link between leadership and HR, this position ensures that people decisions are proactive, data-informed, and aligned with broader business priorities.ResponsibilitiesAct as a senior advisor to operational leadership, influencing decisions on workforce strategy and organizational effectivenessLead complex employee relations matters, including high-risk investigations and dispute resolutionPartner with leaders to strengthen labour relations and navigate collective agreement challengesDrive accountability in performance management, including coaching leaders through difficult conversationsTranslate business priorities into forward-looking workforce and talent plansInterpret and apply employment legislation, collective agreements, and internal policies to mitigate riskConnect operations with HR functional teams to deliver coordinated, high-impact solutionsOversee attendance and absence programs,



using data to identify trends and improve outcomesGuide leaders in managing attendance issues through structured and consistent approachesSupport return-to-work planning and workplace accommodations in collaboration with internal partnersLead or contribute to change initiatives, ensuring workforce impacts are well managedProvide insight and recommendations using HR metrics and operational dataMentor and support more junior HR team members as neededRequirementsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a unionized environmentProven experience operating as a senior HRBP or HR leader supporting operationsDeep expertise in employee relations, investigations, and labour relationsStrong understanding of BC employment legislation and regulatory frameworksDemonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive business-aligned HR outcomesExperience working in complex environments such as manufacturing, construction, or logistics preferredStrong judgment and ability to manage sensitive and high-impact situationsAdvanced problem-solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to analyze workforce data and translate insights into actionHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and accountabilityCPHR designation is an assetRemunerationSalary range: $115,000 - $135,000 plus bonus and pension matching.
