If you are a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) who is looking to practice within a large and diverse Neonatal Intensive Care Program, Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity for you! You will be working as part of a NNP team that practices within a dynamic interdisciplinary healthcare team. We are looking for applicants who have effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as work collaboratively with patients and families as partners in care.This position will support the Foothills Medical Center (FMC) The FMC NICU is the busiest tertiary care Neonatal facility in Canada with 1100 admissions annually. The facility is situated as the sole High Risk Perinatal center severing the Southern Alberta from Red Deer in the North to the US border. The Calgary Zone NICU Program provides excellent clinical care to the children and families who we serve. We also make excellent contributions to education, research, advocacy and inter-qualified leadership.Description:As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.PLEASE NOTE: This position is unionized and represented by the Alberta Union of Nurse Practitioners (AUNP).
