Role Description This full-time Field Service Technician role is a hybrid position based in Lucan, ON, with a mix of on-site work at customer locations and some work-from-home flexibility for administrative and planning tasks.

The Field Service

Technician will install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot variable speed drives, motors, and related control systems. Day-to-day activities include performing equipment diagnostics, completing preventive maintenance, and supporting system upgrades and modifications in coordination with project teams. The role involves preparing service reports, maintaining detailed documentation, and communicating clearly with customers to explain findings, recommendations, and next steps.

The Field Service

Technician will also assist with technical support, participate in continuous improvement initiatives,



and adhere to safety and quality standards during all field work.

Qualifications

Solid technical skills in electrical and mechanical systems, including variable speed drives, motors, and industrial automation equipment.

Experience with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems or related industrial equipment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals, and specifications.

Solid problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills to address complex field issues.

Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams, both in person and remotely.

Comfort with using digital tools for reporting, documentation, and remote support (e.g., service software, mobile tools, basic office applications).

Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize multiple service calls and projects.

Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to relevant electrical and industrial safety standards.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites within the region as required.

Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Previous field service experience in industrial or commercial environments is an asset.
