Our client is a well-established and growing Canadian healthcare services organization located in the GTA and they have an immediate need for a Finance Business Partner (FBP) to support a Business Unit. This role will play a critical role in the business unit’s performance management, financial reporting, planning, and forecasting. This role will also support RFPs and potential new programs, and will contribute to business growth by supporting the financial analyses, pricing, and resource modelling used to inform decision making and program design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Performance Management: Review and publish monthly financial results, analyze variances, track KPIs, and provide clear commentary on key business drivers.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models for existing and new programs, including revenue, staffing/resource requirements, drug revenue, costs, and pass-through items.
- Variance &
- Cost Analysis: Identify drivers behind budget and forecast variances, provide actionable recommendations, and work with program teams to optimize costs and resource allocation.
- Management Reporting: Prepare and present financial performance reports, highlighting key metrics, trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
- Business Partnership: Provide financial guidance to program teams on billing methodologies, hiring decisions, pricing, copay reserves, and other strategic initiatives.
- Pricing &
- Profitability: Develop pricing models and scenarios, maintain standard pricing lists, evaluate Fee-per-Patient, Fee-for-Service, and Cost-Plus models, and recommend strategies to maximize profitability.
- New Program &
- RFP Support:
Build multi-year financial models for new programs and partner with Business Development on financial inputs and pricing for RFPs.
- Budgeting &
- Forecasting: Support the preparation of program-level budgets and forecasts in partnership with business leadership.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, reporting, and forecasting through technology and best practices.
- Strategic Financial Support: Assess program contribution, resource requirements, and reinvestment opportunities to support sustainable growth and informed business decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- CPA or CFA designation required.
- 3-5 years of corporate FP&A;/FBP experience, including a minimum of three years of Canadian work experience (multiunit experience an asset).
- Experience with end budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning.
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry is a plus.
- Self-starter with attention to detail and a zeal for continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working with assumptions and dealing with uncertainty.
- Robust analytical and quantitative thinking paired with Excel modeling skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to build outstanding relationships based on trust and deliver on commitments.
- Comfortable operating in a highly visible role with regular, direct interaction with the CEO and senior leadership.
- Mature and well-balanced, with the resilience and composure to perform well under pressure.
- Skilled at building consensus and remaining persuasive, professional, and collaborative during negotiations.
