Company Description The Varsity - Kitchen Bar & Burgers was created by a group of friends who saw a gap in the Edmonton restaurant scene for a welcoming, family-friendly spot with fresh food and cold beer at reasonable prices. Located at the classic Whitemud Crossing location, The Varsity aims to be a neighborhood favorite where guests feel comfortable staying for a meal, a drink, and good conversation.

Role Description The Food Server is a full-time, on-site role based at The Varsity in Edmonton, AB. In this position, the team member greets guests, explains menu items, takes orders accurately, and serves food and beverages in a timely, friendly manner. Daily responsibilities include checking table settings, running food, ensuring order accuracy, responding to guest requests, and processing payments.

Server also supports a clean and organized dining area, follows food safety and hygiene guidelines,



and collaborates with kitchen and bar staff to provide smooth service. This role contributes directly to creating a welcoming, family-friendly workplace and consistent guest experience.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and communication skills to interact with guests and team members in a courteous, professional manner.
- Experience or familiarity with food & beverage and food service operations, including serving meals and handling orders.
- Basic cooking or food handling knowledge is an asset, including understanding of menu items and special dietary needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods, and manage multiple tables or tasks at once.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices; ProServe or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Previous serving or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
