WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Shopify Enterprise Developer to support the Origins brand . In this role, you will join the Shopify technology team to help build a new ecommerce experience and serve as a primary technical partner in optimizing and scaling the platform over time.
Reporting to the Director of Development and Enablement , you will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, designers, developers, and vendors to deliver scalable tech solutions that drive business growth and elevate the customer experience .
This is a full‑time, permanent position based at our Head Office in Liberty Village . It offers a hybrid work schedule and requires comfort with being in‑office 3‑4 days a week.
PAY RANGE
The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. Exact salary depends on experience, skills, education and budget. Salary may vary by geographic location.
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Develop and maintain Shopify Enterprise themes, sections, blocks, and advanced configurable components.
- Build flexible content modules that allow business and content teams to manage experiences efficiently within Shopify.
- Apply front‑end coding best practices across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid, and up-to-date development patterns, and manage the installation of new apps.
- Build and support Shopify Functions for use cases such as discounts, checkout logic, delivery customization, and payment customization.
- Support the development and maintenance of custom Shopify apps where native functionality or existing apps do not meet business needs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into clear technical solutions.
- Work closely with designers and product teams to build polished, responsive, accessible, and performance‑optimized user experiences.
- Support integrations between Shopify and other enterprise systems, including middleware, OMS, CRM, analytics, and marketing platforms.
- Participate in release management, QA, deployment, and post‑launch support activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable fixes while proactively improving site performance, code quality, reusability, and operational efficiency.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- 5+ years of front‑end or ecommerce development experience, with strong Shopify Plus or Enterprise experience preferred.
- Demonstrable proficiency in vanilla HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Liquid, and modern front‑end development practices.
- Experience working with Shopify Plus or Shopify Enterprise environments and practical understanding of Shopify Functions, custom apps, app extensions, and when to use each approach.
- Strong experience building Shopify sections, blocks, reusable components, and configurable theme experiences, and experience integrating Shopify with third‑party platforms using APIs, webhooks, middleware, or custom applications.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, and front‑end performance optimization, and experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, code reviews, and structured deployment practices.
