The Wellings of Picton is a vibrant community for independent adults who are 55+.
We are currently looking for a Front of House Supervisor/Event's Assistant to join our hospitality team. This is full-time role supports both daily restaurant service and catering/events program.
Schedule:
- Full time, typically Tuesday-Saturday
- 8-hour shifts, generally 11am-12pm start, 7-8pm finish
- Days & hours vary based on events, staff absences, & vacation coverage
- Must be available weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee front-of-house employees & operations
- Assist with scheduling, hiring & training of staff
- Provide flexible coverage as scheduling needs arise
- Be able to provide constructive feedback to FOH staff
- Effectively communicate with senior staff
- Ensure the completion of daily opening/closing tasks and weekly/monthly duties
- Provide excellent customer service to members & guests
- Present daily menus, take and serve food & drinks orders
- Operate a Point-of-Sale system; update pricing & customer data base
- Maintain cleanliness & organization in food stations/dining & bar areas & ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
- Follow food safety guidelines when handling and packaging food items
- Assist with stocking shelves and replenishing inventory
- Work with team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Be able to resolve staffing & service issues
- Manage customer complaints with professionalism
- Perform weekly & monthly inventories for supplies
- Order, restock and replenish bar inventory
- prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and dining room guests
- Plan and present bar menu
- Assist with planning events, including staffing, decorating, setup/take down of tables & equipment, managing guests lists and follow up
- Coordinate with kitchen & event staff on timing and logistics
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a food service or hospitality setting is an asset
- experience with planning & setting up events
- Ability to multitask and work in a quick-paced environment
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures is an asset
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- be able to take initiative and work unsupervised
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to interact with customers & team members
- Smart serve certificate &/or food handlers certificate an asset
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 per year
