About The Role We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our dynamic e-commerce team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing and expanding our digital platforms, including our flagship website, rona.ca. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will work within an Agile Scrum environment to design, develop, deploy, and support scalable, high-quality e-commerce solutions that provide seamless shopping experiences for our customers.
This position requires a robust command of modern full-stack technologies such as React, Node.js, and Next.js. You will also have the opportunity to learn and master the KIBO platform, which is integral to powering our e-commerce ecosystem. Prior experience with KIBO is not mandatory, as comprehensive onboarding and training will be provided. The role is remote; however, the selected candidate must reside within 250 km of our Boucherville, Quebec office to facilitate collaboration and support.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of qualified software development experience, with a focus on ReactJS, Node.js, and Next.js (version 14 or higher).
- Strong understanding of micro-frontend architectures and building scalable web applications.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL is an asset.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), asynchronous programming, and state management libraries such as Redux and Immutable.js.
- Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.
- Experience with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web performance optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build tools, linters, bundlers, and automated deployment practices.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive ownership mindset.
- Proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written, is required.
Assets include experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend development, Flutter, and working on high-traffic e-commerce platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative technical solutions that align with evolving business needs using ReactJS, Node.js, and Next.js.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Develop, build, and integrate scalable RESTful APIs and backend services to support front-end functionalities.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, QA teams,
and other technology stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences and robust solutions.
- Maintain high standards of code quality, security, scalability, and performance, ensuring reliability across all platforms.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and document issues across production and non-production environments, providing timely resolutions.
- Contribute to system testing, deployment planning, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, while engaging in technical design discussions.
