Founded in 2016 by Christine LeBlanc, LIFE&COLOUR; has grown into one of Vancouver's leading hair salons, known for exceptional artistry, outstanding guest service, and a welcoming team culture.

As the business prepares to open its second location in Spring 2027 , we're looking for a General Manager who is passionate about leadership, operational excellence, and building high-performing teams.

This is an opportunity to work directly with the Founder, oversee the flagship salon, and play a key role in growing the business as it expands into its second location.

As we continue to grow, including the opening of our second salon in Spring 2027, we are looking for a General Manager who is passionate about leadership, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business at a pivotal stage. You'll work directly with the Founder to lead LIFE&COLOUR; into its next chapter, overseeing one salon today while preparing for the launch of our second location in Spring 2027.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of LIFE&COLOUR.; Reporting directly to the Owner, this role oversees salon operations, financial performance, people leadership, marketing, education, and guest experience.

Initially, the General Manager will oversee the operations of our flagship location before transitioning to managing two salon locations following the opening of our second location in Spring 2027.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. LEADERSHIP

- Champion the LIFE&COLOUR; culture, mission, and values.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture.
- Coach leaders and employees to achieve individual and team success.
- Address employee concerns and resolve workplace conflicts.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements.

2. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

- Organize and lead quarterly team meetings.
- Directly manage the Salon Coordinator(s), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Directly manage the Lead Stylist, providing ongoing support for stylist development and salon floor operations.
- Monitor stylist KPIs and lead quarterly performance reviews.
- Oversee stylist scheduling, vacation requests, and staffing needs.
- Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Develop individual growth plans and career progression opportunities for team members.

3. FINANCIAL

- Manage salon budgets, including retail, backbar, supplies, payroll, staffing, and team events.
- Review monthly financial results and KPIs with the Owner.




- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Manage payroll in partnership with the salon's accountant.

4. OPERATIONS

- Lead operational planning and execution for the opening of the second salon location.
- Ensure operational consistency across both salon locations.
- Maintain and optimize salon systems, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Oversee the salon calendar and operational planning.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.

5. GUEST EXPERIENCE

- Ensure exceptional guest experience standards are consistently delivered.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the overall client experience.

6. MARKETING

- Manage the annual marketing calendar.
- Develop and execute bi-monthly marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Stylists to plan and execute social media campaigns that support business goals.

7. EDUCATION

- Develop and manage the salon education calendar.
- Coordinate monthly education opportunities with brand partners and educators.
- Manage stylist education budgets and career development funds.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE

- Success will be measured by:
- Achievement of financial and profitability targets.
- Guest satisfaction and retention.
- Employee engagement and retention.
- Consistent operational excellence across all locations.
- Successful launch and integration of the second salon location.
- Development and growth of the salon team.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of leadership, management, or business operations experience.
- Experience managing teams of 10–20 employees.
- Budgeting experience.
- HR and recruitment experience.
- Experience in hospitality, beauty, wellness, or retail (preferred).

COMPENSATION

- $75,000–$100,000 annually, depending on the number of salon locations managed
- Quarterly performance bonus
- Profit-sharing opportunity
