Position Overview

Envirotech Fire Systems Inc. is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Grants & Funding Specialist to identify, pursue, prepare, and manage government grants, funding programs, tax incentives, and other financial assistance opportunities available to our businesses.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the complete grants lifecycle—from researching and identifying suitable programs to assessing eligibility, developing compelling applications, coordinating supporting documentation, submitting applications, responding to funding agencies, and supporting post-approval reporting and compliance.

This role is ideal for an individual who is resourceful, highly organized, an excellent writer and researcher, and capable of actively seeking out funding opportunities rather than simply responding to programs presented by management.

Key Responsibilities

- Proactively research and identify federal, provincial, municipal, industry, and other government funding opportunities relevant to the group.
- Continuously monitor new and upcoming grant programs, incentives, subsidies, loans, tax credits, and funding initiatives.
- Maintain an organized database and calendar of funding opportunities, application deadlines, eligibility requirements, funding amounts, and application status.
- Develop relationships with government funding organizations, economic development agencies, industry associations, funding consultants, and other relevant organizations.
- Develop funding strategies that maximize available government assistance while ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Lead the preparation of complete grant and funding applications.
- Write clear, persuasive, professional, and technically accurate application narratives.
- Develop project descriptions, business cases, executive summaries, objectives, expected outcomes, commercialization plans, and economic-benefit statements.
- Coordinate preparation of project budgets, timelines, milestones, forecasts, and supporting documentation.

- Gather technical, financial, operational, HR, and corporate information required for applications.
- Ensure applications clearly demonstrate the business, economic, technological, employment, environmental, and community benefits of proposed projects.
- Submit applications accurately and within required deadlines.
- Maintain complete records of all submitted applications and supporting documents.
- Track each application from initial submission through approval, rejection, or completion.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience researching, preparing government grant or funding applications.
- Demonstrated ability to research complex funding programs and interpret eligibility guidelines.
- Strong business and professional writing skills.
- Ability to convert technical and operational information into clear and persuasive funding applications.
- Solid analytical and financial skills, including the ability to understand project budgets and financial information.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and actively pursue opportunities with limited supervision.

Key Competencies The successful candidate will be:

- Opportunity-driven: Actively searches for potential funding instead of waiting for opportunities to be provided.
- Resourceful: Knows where and how to research government and industry funding programs.
- Persuasive: Able to prepare compelling applications and business cases.
- Detail-oriented: Carefully manages eligibility requirements, documentation, deadlines, and compliance.
- Commercially minded: Understands how funding can support growth, innovation, profitability, and market expansion.
- Collaborative: Works effectively across engineering, finance, HR, sales, operations, and senior management.
- Accountable: Takes ownership of applications from initial opportunity identification through final reporting.

Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Extended health care
- Life insurance
- On-site parking
- Vision care
- Wellness program
