We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee the overall effectiveness of the Electrical Services Group for our high tech R&D; client. The group is responsible for the protected, reliable, and compliant operation, maintenance, and engineering support of our clients electrical infrastructure and site fire alarm systems. the incumbent will be responsible for leading, directing, and reviewing the work of a team consisting primarily of emerging to expert-level engineers,

technologists, and electricians. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of operational, maintenance, and engineering objectives.

Responsibilities:

-Establishing operational plans and objectives aligned with departmental priorities and strategic goals.

-May have budget accountability and responsibility for managing elements of the group's operating and maintenance budgets.

-Preparing and administering annual operating plans, maintenance plans, budgets, and resource forecasts.

-Ensuring that engineering work complies with applicable legislation, regulations, codes,

standards, and policies and procedures.

-Providing engineering oversight and support for capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and operational activities.

-Managing or overseeing the site fire alarm system and associated engineering activities.





-Supporting electrical safety programs and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safe work practices.

-Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements to processes, systems, and work practices to enhance departmental effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability.

-Maintaining appropriate engineering, operational, maintenance, and regulatory records.

-Supporting development of engineering standards, procedures, training programs, and best practices.

-Promoting a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, accountability, and professional excellence.

Qualifications:

-Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

-Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligibility for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).

-8 to 12 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including management or leadership experience of an equivalent scope and complexity.

-Demonstrated experience leading and managing technical teams, projects, processes, and operational activities.

-Experience in electrical infrastructure, industrial facilities, utilities, research facilities, or similar complex operating environments is considered an asset.
